Favorite Swimsuits for the First Day of Summer

Hello 1st day of SUMMER!!! Today I’m talking swimwear! And all the ladies said “Ughhh!” I personally don’t know anyone that says they absolutely love trying on swimsuits. It may not be our favorite thing to do but there are a few things you can do to make the process better.

Tip #1 for making the swimsuit try on process less dreadful…Try them on at home. Whether you order online or pick a few up in store, try them on in the comfort of your house. Why? Because have you seen dressing room lighting? It highlights things that aren’t even there. Plus you will just feel more comfortable and not have the sales people pressuring you to buy something. We’ve all had that experience.

Tip #2… Try a few different styles. Many times we stick to the same styles because we think, why reinvent the wheel? We also don’t want to try on a million different items. I would challenge you to try at least 3 different styles and you never know, you may find one you thought you would never wear.

Tip #3… Choose a bright color. I think sometimes many women opt for black because they think it’s slimming. If this is your tendency, find a swimsuit in your favorite color and see how it makes you feel. Everyone wants to feel good in a swimsuit and who doesn’t feel good in their favorite color.

Tip #4… Mix and match. If you wear a lot of two piece swimsuits, don’t be afraid to mix and match your pieces.Β I am bigger on the bottom than I am up top so a lot of the teeny tiny bottoms don’t work for me. (I’m not really comfortable with letting it all hang out.)Β  So I find a flattering bottom that goes with the top and then I have a one of a kind swimsuit!

Tip #5… Be willing to spend a little $$$ on one good swimsuit. There is something about the more expensive swimsuits, they just fit better. I usually buy one really nice swimsuit (this year was #3 below) every summer and replenish my collection with a couple of inexpensive items. We go to the lake a lot and your swimsuits get gross so I wear one that I don’t mind messing up and save my nicer swimsuits for the pool or beach.

Tip #6… Be confident and remember that we are our own worst critics. The thoughts running through your head on how you think people see you are most likely not running through their heads. They are probably worried about how they look. Just have fun and be confident in who you are!

I hope you all have a great first day of summer!!!!

Eyelet Romper

Good morning friends! I found this romperΒ at Anthropologie last week and fell in love with it. It is super comfortable and super cute, which I believe are the must have C’s when buying new clothes. There’s also your A’s, affordable and amazing; and your B’s, beautiful and beautiful. Oh and don’t forget your D’s, delightful and dannnngggg that’s cute, in my best Tiffany Haddish voice. “She ready!”

…I didn’t sleep well last night you guys.

Okay, I’m better! I got my coffee flowing. Please disregard anything I say before I have my coffee.

That last one is probably slightly true for me. Except it forgot to add mid-morning snack breaks. HA! Back to the super cute, super comfortable romper.

When I bought the romper I was with my sister-in-law and she made the statement that a lot of my girlfriends make when I’m shopping with them and I point out a cute romper. She said, “I can’t do rompers because they never look right on me.” I think the biggest reason people feel that way is because they haven’t found the right fit. Personally, I have a very long waist so that can sometimes be a problem when buying “onesie” anything. It’s all about the fit you guys, which brings us to F. I know we skipped E. (I can’t really think of anything right now.) Seriously, if you are questioning the fit before you buy it, it’s going to hang in your closet and never come out. Do you want to hurt it’s feelings like that? I didn’t think so.

What I do love about this romper (besides the fact that it is freaking CUTE) is the fit. It’s roomy up top and still fits great on women who are less blessed in that area like me; And it will also fit great if you are Dolly Parton. Who doesn’t love Dolly?

I found a few other super cute rompers for different shapes and sizes. Check them out to see if anything strikes your fancy.

Oh yeah…I thought of “E.” Add a little something to your outfit that says “EXTRA.”

Hope y’all are having a great day or at least better than the one I’m obviously having! πŸ˜‰
